About Sanjeevani
The Bhavishya Bharat, under its flagship program “Sanjeevani – Making Primary Healthcare Available, Accessible and Affordable in India”, was initiated in 2008. It envisages the benefit of the rural and tribal population by providing immediate health check-ups and medical treatment facilities. Sanjeevani (Mobile Medical Unit), a mobile hospital equipped with Doctor Consultation, Pathology, and Pharmacy enables the rural population and tribals a close-to-their home health facility including home visits so that there is no hindrance to their daily livelihood activities. Along with the clinical facilities, the unit will also run specialized health and awareness camps in these remote areas to educate people on health-related topics.
Our Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) are a key strategy to facilitate access to public health care, particularly for people living in remote, difficult, under-served, and unreached areas. The objective of this strategy is to take healthcare to the doorstep of populations, particularly rural, vulnerable and under-served areas.
Through our MMU we provide health care in thematic areas like Maternal and child health, Reproductive Health and Contraceptive Services, Management of Chronic Communicable Diseases, & basic OPD care (acute simple illnesses), management of Common Non-Communicable Diseases, Dental Care, Eye Care/ENT Care, Geriatric Care and Emergency Medicine.
Currently, Bhavishya Bharat is serving 125+ villages in Telangana and Sikkim through 6 specialized Mobile Medical Units supported by SBI Foundation and The Hans Foundation. During the CoVID-19 pandemic crisis, we worked closely with the state governments to set up quarantine centers, screen people, dry ration support to People with disabilities, Awareness Programmes, organised blood donation camps, and mobilised the community for vaccine drives.
