Master Chultim Lepcha, 4 years old, is the only son of Mrs Oma Lepcha. They live in a small muddy house with his grandmother (90 yrs old) in a remote village called Lum of North Sikkim. Chultim’s father separated her mother, so Mrs Oma Lepcha works as a daily wage earner to feed her child and her mother.
Master Chultim Lepcha was healthy during his birth but eventually, his both fingers and leg seem as abnormal and becomes severe soon. His mother tried beyond her capacity to get treatment for his son, but nothing happens well. Lots of barriers come in front of her, inadequate health infrastructure, poor transportation, remoteness, and a huge financial burden. It was very hard for her to find the solution through all those limitations.
During the MOPD visit to THF – Sanjeevani project, the medical team found him with his health condition and diagnosed his problem. Chultim needed surgery that cost a lot and his mother was unable to save much money.
The medical team themselves took initiative and raised funds of Rs 37K from the Mangan Bazar area for the treatment of the child. He got his treatment and now moving toward a cure.
